Theatre For Tomorrow
NetTHEAT (Next Era Theatre) was born during the COVID-19 pandemic from an unconventional idea: when theatres were closed and artists were unable to perform, Anil Marwari created a virtual theatre space from the rooftop of his home.
What began as a small effort to keep artists connected with audiences gradually grew into India’s first e-Rangmanch — a virtual stage for performing artists.
Over the past five years, NetTHEAT has provided a platform to more than 1,180 artists, who have presented their work through theatre, dance, music, poetry and other forms of performing arts.
The platform has brought together artists from diverse backgrounds—from Padma Shri awardees and established performers to emerging and rural artists—creating a unique space where experience, talent and grassroots creativity could come together.
NetTHEAT demonstrated that when the physical stage disappears, the spirit of theatre can still find a way to reach people.
From a rooftop during the pandemic to a growing digital cultural platform, NetTHEAT continues to explore new possibilities for artists, audiences and the performing arts.
